Delivery and collection was a hassle-free process and even though I've rented cars several times in my life, this was the best experience so far.

The Best Luxury Cars To Rent In Perugia

Luxury car rental Perugia is the best way to see the city. Perugia is the capital of Umbria in central Italy and situated on a hilltop overlooking the river Tiber. The Etruscans first started up the settlement of Perugia and there is an Etruscan Wall still standing, an Arch, a gate with Roman fineries as well as a chamber tomb. At the National museum of Umbrian Archaeology, the longest Etruscan inscription has been preserved.

There are plenty of important historically religious sites to see in Perugia including the Basilica of San Domenico which contains beautiful local art and the tomb of Pope Benedict XI.The church of Sant'Angelo is ancient and dates back to 500 AD. Within are 16 columns that frame a central layout which mimics the Santo Stefano in Rome.Another church built in the early 1300's is the Sant' Ercolano, built with a polygonal tower it used to have two floors. Baroque decorations and a sarcophagus altar were added in the early 1600's.

The church of Santa Giuliana was originally a female monastery which was founded way back in 1253. It was then turned into a granary by the French and is currently a military hospital. 13th century frescoes still remain in part. The chapel of San Severo has a fresco by Raphael. The final interesting church is the Knights Templar, of San Bevignate. The warrior theme from the Templars then flows nicely into the Rocca Paolina, a fortress from the Renaissance period, although only one bastion is still standing it is certainly worth a trip. It also includes the Porta Marzia built in 300 BC and a medieval cellar. Rent a luxury car in Perugia and you can see all this splendour at your own pace.

If you love art then the National Gallery of Umbrian art is a place to visit. Art from the middle ages and the Renaissance period both feature work by Piero della Francesca, Perugino and Duccio. The world famous Oddi Altar is also here which was painted by none other than Raphael. There's also a beautiful medieval fountain called the Fontana Maggiore that was sculpted by the Pisano father and son. Other areas of modern day interest are the university's botanical garden, the Jazz festival which is held yearly in July, Perugia is one of the highlights of the European Jazz scene. Oh and Eurochocolate, the annual chocolate exhibition held in October of each year.
